Ideally situated and only a stone's throw from the Georgian city of Bath, the cathedral city of Wells and the historic port of Bristol, Hunstrete House symbolizes the definition and charm of an English country hotel. Peacefulness prevails amid the ninety - two acre imposing landscape of deer park, pasture land, woodland and nature's gift of a nearby tranquil cool stream. Here also are naturally grown gardens that serve its kitchen, for your epicurean tastes.

Hunstrete House is bathed in history. The original estate was donated by King Athelstan in 963 A.D. to Glastonbury Abbey. It passed into private hands in the 12th century, and in the early 1600's the estate came into the possesion of the Popham family, where it remained as their home for 350 years. The main house itself dates back to the mid - 1700's. Thus it is a rare privilage to steep oneself in the rich traditions of English hospitality and see first hand how a thosand years have litle changed one's human needs.
