In the l930's a famous Life photographer turned this turn-of-the-century manor house and outbuildings into a vacation colony. This pretty lake was the setting for its namesake academy-award winning film.

The owners are a French-born innkeepers and his American wife, a Parisian-trained chef; the inn is known for its food. UPDATE: Regretfully, the house is no longer open to the public.
